Submitting to Google Search Console is different and it is slow process. Sometimes takes weeks/months to index pages in search results.
Under the hood, the app uses the Google official indexing API which is safe and recommended by Google "We recommend using the Indexing API instead of sitemaps because the Indexing API prompts Googlebot to crawl your pages sooner than updating the sitemap and pinging Google."
